Tired and late

So it is late and I should be asleep. I had to type that sentence like three times. I couldn't get the keys right. I don't know why I am typing except just typing. Okay that is it I am going to bed.
Here is a funny link to enjoy.

The odd accent of Tangier VA (from AMERICAN TONGUES)

Cute background! Too bad the hair colors are switched, it'd look just like you and Adam!

That's what I thought too

Thanks for including that link to the segment about the people of Tangier! You know when you're watching an interview on a news show or some documentary and the interviewee is speaking English but captions appear on the screen anyway because of the thick accent? Well, those captions often annoy me because I can understand the speaker just fine. I guess I get annoyed because it speaks to the fact that thousands and thousands, if not millions, of people know only one language in this country. As soon as you start to study and work your way towards fluency in another language, you appreciate dialects and variations in pronunciation in any language. As a result, you can also appreciate more fully varied accents in your own native language. But what surprised me about watching that segment was that despite my strong opinion about all this, I would have appreciated English captions even though the citizens of Tangier were speaking English!

P.S.~I just listened to it again, and you can definitely pick up more the second time around!
